Here is a snapshot of my family’s coming to America… one immigrant family making its way through the years.
My family lived big. Our triumphs as well as our challenges. With little subtlety, my family said what they meant without editing. From “I love you Meshugana”, to saying that outrageous comment that so many people think but wouldn’t dare say, to dreams coming true…
Here we go …
AN IMMIGRANT’S STORY: After Ellis Island
ZAIDY AND BUBBE: A love story
THE FORGOTTEN ONES: and stubborn hope
SWINGSTER: that girl can dance
DISILLUSIONED: and cracking open
MESHUGANA
A POOR GIRL FROM THE BRONX
PARENTS PASSING: And the new family
MY DAD: A blue eyed tribute
AN AMERICAN DREAM & catcher of the fallen angels
A CRAZY WONDERFUL STORY
My dad at 87, while in the hospital, made sure I paid all his bills, including a trip to Turkey which he fully planned on taking. His soul moved on to bigger places before the planned Turkey trip, but while he was here, he didn’t take any chances of missing out on life.
My mom and dad gave my sister, brother and I wonderful role models on how to pursue our dreams and realize many of them.
Now with that same passion, I try to focus it on the best of the best. That being to live as G-d wants. I’ve learned that trusting Hashem with everything including my most cherished desires gives a life beyond what I could hope or imagine.
